Welcome to Cory’s Carpentry: Real Builds, DIY Projects, and Learning as I Go

If you’re here, welcome.

My name is Cory, and I started Cory’s Carpentry because I enjoy building things, working with my hands, and figuring stuff out as I go. I’m not here to act like I know everything—I’m here to build, learn, and share what actually works in real life.

Most of what I do is focused on small shop projects, DIY home improvements, and practical builds that you can actually take on yourself. A lot of it will be done right at home—not big job sites—just real projects that turn into something useful.

What You Can Expect Here

This blog is going to be simple and straight to the point. No fluff.

Here’s what I’ll be sharing:

  • Step-by-step DIY projects you can build yourself
  • Small woodworking builds you can do at home
  • Tool tips and what I actually use (not just what sounds good)
  • Lessons I learn along the way (including mistakes)

I also want this to be more than just building—I want to bring some real-life perspective into it too. Staying consistent, staying disciplined, and doing something with your time matters. That’s something I’m working on myself.

Why I Started This

Honestly, I got tired of overthinking everything.

I’ve spent a lot of time planning, researching, and trying to do things “the right way”… but not actually starting. So this is me just getting going.

This blog is part of building something bigger:

  • A carpentry brand
  • Content on YouTube and TikTok
  • Products I can build and sell
  • And eventually turning this into something that brings in real income

But it starts here—with just doing the work and sharing it.

A Quick Tip to Start

If you’re getting into DIY or woodworking, here’s something simple that will save you a lot of frustration:

Measure twice, cut once—but also check your material.

A lot of mistakes don’t come from bad measuring—they come from:

  • warped boards
  • uneven walls
  • or assuming everything is square when it’s not

Take a second to check your setup before you cut. It makes a big difference.

Tools I Use

Here are a few basic tools I use regularly in my shop:

(Some of the links I’ll share on this site may be affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.)

As I go, I’ll break down exactly what I use and what’s actually worth buying.

What’s Coming Next

I’m just getting started, but here’s what I plan to post soon:

  • Small projects you can build and sell
  • Shop builds you can do with limited space
  • Before/after home improvement projects
  • Tool breakdowns and what’s actually worth buying

Final Thoughts

This isn’t going to be perfect—and that’s the point.

I’m building this as I go, learning as I go, and sharing it along the way. If that’s something you’re into, stick around.

If you’ve ever thought about building something, starting a project, or even turning it into a side income—this is your sign to just start.

  1. Fantastic! I have been more than pleased with the timing, quality and costs of the projects that you have completed for me.
